Samantha James is a dedicated fundraising manager, tirelessly working to raise much-needed money to save Green Meadow hospice from financial ruin. She is also a hopeless romantic and fantasises that one day she will be swept off her feet by a handsome stranger.
It seems that her dreams may be realised when she meets Ross Carrington, the extremely attractive, alluring son of one of the influential board members at Green Meadow. Sam is immediately smitten and falls head over heels – literally.
Yet Ross is unpredictable to say the least and our heroine truly has her work cut out. With the hospice situation becoming ever more desperate, despite her innovative campaigns, and Ross blowing hot and cold, will Sam be able to turn the situation around, and snag her man and the funding?
What an enchanting debut, peppered with an array of lovely, engaging characters (including donkeys and penguins!) which truly made the novel sparkle. I immediately liked Sam and her escapades were at times hilarious.
A delight from start to finish, it had a feel-good story vibe and the narrative was brilliantly plotted. (LP)
