Wide Awake - Shelly Crane (2013)

Wide Awake tells the tale of Emma who has been in a coma for the past six months. Not knowing if she will ever wake, her family have been preparing for the worst. And when she does wake up she cannot remember who she is or recognise the people around her. The only comfort she finds is being with her therapist Mason. Wide Awake tells of the ups and downs that Emma must go through in order to rebuild her life from scratch. But what happens when Emma discovers that her pre-accident life wasn't all that it was cracked up to be? Sure she was Miss Popular and Spoilt, but the new Emma isn't like that at all. The story opens readers' eyes to the incidents leading up to the accident and in parts will have you tearing up. Wide Awake is a great read about love and re-evaluating yourself. (PP)
