How to Hook a Husband (2016)

Belle returns from her overseas travels to help her best friend, Nicky, prepare for her wedding. But after catching the cheating groom out, Belle gets requests from other women to investigate how faithful their men are. Cue many late nights, hiding in bushes and trailing her target in a rattly old car. Then the slightly unhinged Amanda asks her to follow a guy she briefly dated – bar owner Eddie - so she can find out the sort of woman he likes with the aim of transforming herself into his perfect woman. Only trouble is Belle starts to fall for Eddie’s charms herself. Originally published in 2000 as Fly-Fishing, it’s a light, humorous story with old-school chick lit charm. I enjoyed the fact that most of the story revolved around Amanda’s spying mission, rather than hopping from one case to another. 6/10
