Kate and Daniel both lost someone they loved in the past and they are trying to get through the Christmas period as best they can. Kate is a single mother to a six-year-old boy, Jack. After losing her husband four years earlier, she has started again in a new town where she found a job as a sales assistant at a store. The job doesn't pay much and during Christmas she is forced to dressed up and sell Christmas trees out in the cold to the customers. That's how she meets Daniel. He is the man who comes every year to buy a tree with a woman in a wheelchair but this year he is alone.
The story is captivating, heartwarming, at times moving, at times funny. The Christmas atmosphere fills the pages with the decorations, the trees, advent calendars, and snow, and the characters are likeable, funny and engaging. A fantastic Christmas read. (NP)
