Annie loves romantic comedies and is waiting for her own perfect guy to turn up - someone like the adorable characters that Tom Hanks has played on the big screen. With a movie being filmed in her neighbourhood, she gets the chance to meet the romantic lead, Drew Danforth. But he's rather cocky, not sweet like Tom, and she doesn't think he'll do her favourite type of movie justice at all.
Like Annie, I adore rom-coms and the author played up on many of this genre's tropes as well as referencing many of its great films. The book gets off to a promising start and I was really enjoying the humour and writing style. But partway through, the story lost me and I only skimmed the rest of the pages to the end.
