Abbie and Tom are two strangers who get on a late-night London Tube after a night out, and actually chat to one another. When the train derails, Tom helps Abbie to safety.
They later discover they work on the same floor in opposite buildings so can see each other from their window - she’s a journalist, he works in finance.
Told in alternating chapters, this terrific story follows Abbie and Tom as their lives criss-cross over a period of seven years from 2005, and a series of bad timings and miscommunications gets in their way. One for romantics who want to reminisce about the early noughties.
