Jaded (2024)

London lawyer Jade, of Korean-Turkish descent, is at a work function where the managing partner is behaving inappropriately towards her. She ends up drinking too much and is put in a taxi by one of the senior associates, Josh. The next morning she wakes up naked in her bed not remembering how she got there.
As Jade continues working very long hours for an important client and keeping in contact with her friends, family and boyfriend Kit, she soon realises that something bad happened that night.
This was a compelling story that powerfully relates how that night impacts on every facet of Jade’s life, bringing up the themes of consent, casual racism, abuse of power, and corporate misogyny. A thought-provoking and well-written debut. 7/10
