How's this for a blast from the past? For those who used to devour the Sweet Valley High series in your teens, you'll be pleased to hear that creator Francine Pascal is bringing back the Wakefield twins - with a novel about them as adults. Launched in 1983, the Sweet Valley franchise produced about 180 titles, often written by a team of ghostwriters. The books focused on identical twins Elizabeth (the responsible one) and Jessica (the party girl) who lived the sweet life in California. The new book, Sweet Valley Confidential, published by St Martin's Press in early 2011, takes place 12 years after the high school series. "I've had thousand of queries from fans over the years wondering what Jessica and Elizabeth would be like as adults," Pascal said in a press release. "Well, Sweet Valley Confidential should give them all the answers. And I can guarantee they will be very surprised. Actually, more like shocked." Juno screenwriter Diablo Cody is already working on a film based on the twins' high school years.
