SPECIALTY SHELF
Weelicious - Catherine McCord (2012)
Never have I ever found more use in a baby, toddler or recipe book! Catherine is one of the few people I can see myself hanging out with for a day (week, month, year). She's straight to the point, and knowledgeable about the types of foods you should have your baby try, and the ones you should stay away from (the dirty dozen!). Among her great recipes are a few handy tools. She has a must-have pantry list of items you should keep on hand at all times (that has changed my life!), and even includes a list of which fruits and vegetables should be bought organic and which don't have to be (the clean 15!). I consider myself a foodie but I never thought about the different creations I could make for my mini foodie. I was stuck in a bland homemade rut. I am so thankful for this book, I would have never thought to mix peas with mint leaves. Heck, I would have never even introduced my kid to mint leaves. Alongside most recipes are nice personal stories straight from Catherine's own kitchen. A must-have for all new (and experienced) parents. (AV)
