The Healing Powers of Honey - Cal Orey (2011)
Cal Orey has a charming habit of educating me without making me feel like a student. The Healing Powers of Honey is an interesting read filled with personal stories from Orey's childhood, a brief but informative history of honey and its uses, and modern-day uses for honey. As a rabid raw honey consumer myself, I was happy to read a few new tidbits about the healing powers of raw honey, for instance, did you know honey can rid your body of allergies, stress, coughs, and sore throats all while boosting your libido? There are also a variety of household uses for honey, copper cleaner, candles, crayons and spa treatments all listed in detail. I will continue my mass consumption of honey, and thanks to a few tips from this book, I have a couple of new varieties and sellers I'll be trying. A book for the honey lover, or anyone looking for a wealth of information about honey. (AV)
