Sew La Tea Do - Pip Lincolne (2010)
This was my first-ever sewing book and I am impressed! A pouch full of patterns greets you as you open the book. In the sewing community, patterns are as good as gold, so I automatically felt like I hit the jackpot. Separated into three main sections: For kids: hats, dresses, pants, etc; For adults: dresses, scarves and pants; and For the home: anything from beanbags and rugs, to wallets and quilts. Packed with full-page pictures of each finished product modelled adorably by the author's own family, and with a list at each project of Fabric Details: who this will fit, how much seam allowance to give, and fabric instructions; Supplies: what fabric/thread/stitches you'll have to have; and Sewing Kit: what tools/machinery you will need. Each project is then further broken down into step-by-step directions accompanied by even more photos. A perfect beginner or advanced book, I am ready to get sewing these awesome projects. (AV)
