I was a bit disappointed to find that there were NO pictures in this recipe book. A cookbook should always have pictures. I am a kitchen newbie, and I need to have an idea if what I made (even while following all the directions, in order, perfectly!!) looks anything like what the author thinks it should. That grievance aside, I really enjoyed cooking with this book. The chicken recipes blew whatever I am now calling the chicken I used to make (possibly cardboard) away. Why have I never tried to saute chicken with white wine? Why did I never own more than three herbs at a time? My kitchen cabinets got a revamp, I now have a spice rack, and my kitchen smells like heaven come 6pm. Thanks to this book, the hints, and the kitchen must-have guide, I feel like a domestic goddess. The recipes are good, the advice is better, and the engagement chicken might work, but my friends and I are already married, so I'll never know. It was delicious however. Bravo. (AV)
