Kathy Cano-Murillo, journalist and designer of the Crafty Chica product line, has set her first novel in the world of craft lovers. Waking Up in the Land of Glitter is about Ofy, who is determined to turn heads at the world's biggest craft fair, the International CraftOlympics. But she'll need the help of her best friend, Star. Star, who considers herself a serious artist, is hesitant but finally agrees to help as a way to end her own creative slump. Truthfully she thinks Ofy is a little loca about the whole craft thing - and about her idol: TV personality Crafty Chloe. Star doesn't trust the bottle-blonde, even after she becomes part of their crafting team. As the competition heats up, Star will learn Chloe's dirty little secret and why crafting means so much to Ofy. It's out in March, which is National Craft Month.
