Liselle has an intense affair with painter Charlie during a trip to Mexico with her archaeologist husband. With her marriage in tatters, the documentary filmmaker exiles herself to the remote village where she sets about recording the locals' lives. And by telling the stories of others, Liselle comes to confront her own tumultuous past and her feelings for Charlie.
