The Good Girlfriend’s Guide to Getting Even - Anna Bell (2017)

When Lexi’s sports-mad boyfriend, Will, bails on her friend’s wedding because of food poisoning but is then spotted at a soccer match, she decides to get mad, and then get even. Without telling Will that his ruse is up, she hatches several sneaky sabotage missions to ensure he misses future sporting events. The aspiring writer also starts blogging about her acts of revenge as a sports widow. Bell knocks it out of the park with this cleverly plotted story. With a totally recognisable relationship at its heart, plenty of humour as well as a plot that keeps readers guessing, this is a cute and enjoyable story, albeit a wee bit slow at the end. The perfect book to lose yourself in while your man’s watching a game.

Will some sneaky sabotage pay off in Anna Bell's latest novel, The Good Girlfriend's Guide to Getting Even? The summary says: "When Lexi's sport-mad boyfriend Will skips her friend's wedding to watch football - after pretending to have food poisoning - it might just be the final whistle for their relationship.
But fed up of just getting mad, Lexi decides to even the score. And, when a couple of lost tickets and an 'accidentally' broken television lead to them spending extra time together, she's delighted to realise that revenge might be the best thing that's happened to their relationship.
And if her clever acts of sabotage prove to be a popular subject for her blog, what harm can that do? It's not as if he'll ever find out ..." The Good Girlfriend's Guide to Getting Even is out in January 2017.
