Make-up Secrets - Jemma Kidd (2012)

I love make-up books and have quite the selection. I have heard of Jemma Kidd in magazines and seen her mini make-up line whenever I walk through Target, but I didn't realise what a make-up rockstar she was until this book. I learnt a few new tips (I'm talking about you, Rock Show Lashes!!) and brushed up on some oldies but goodies. Like every make-up secret book, you are shown how to apply concealer, you are introduced to the many different types of foundations and blushes, shown which colors are the best for your skin tone, and how to apply shadow, special emphasis on the smoky eye - in this way this book is pretty average. Where the book shines is in its amazing tips, I learnt how to make my lipstick last longer, how to maintain radiant skin, and the top three skin-care myths. I was a bit disappointed that some of the most interesting tips didn't have a picture tutorial, only worded advice. I need more pictures Jemma! All in all a well-rounded make-up book. (AV)
