Finding Colin Firth - Mia March (2013)
Boothbay Harbor, Maine, has attracted the attention of a film crew who is here to shoot a movie with none other than Colin Firth. Veronica Russo, who is famous for her magical pies, came back to this small town because she so desperately wants to connect with the daughter she gave up for adoption twenty-two years ago. But little does she know that she will be hired as an extra in Firth's movie. Gemma, who has recently lost her job and wants a break from her marriage, also arrives in Boothbay Harbor, in the hope of scoring a writing assignment from her friend and local newspaper editor. She believes that getting an interview with Firth could save her doomed career but much to her disappointment things are not in her favour. Bea has only recently learnt that she was adopted and she comes to town to observe her birth mother. This is such a sweet read. The light-hearted story beautifully connects these three totally different women together and the story ends on quite a happy note. Finding Colin Firth is a feel-good book which would leave you all warm and fuzzy inside. (SS)

Finding Colin Firth, by Mia March, is about three women who are in for a life-changing summer when rumor has it that the actor is coming to their town to film a movie. The summary says: "After losing her job and leaving her beloved husband, journalist Gemma Hendricks is sure that scoring an interview with Colin Firth will save her career and marriage. Yet a heart-tugging local story about women, family ties, love, and loss captures her heart - and changes everything. The story concerns Bea Crane, a floundering twenty-two-year old who learns in a deathbed confession letter that she was adopted at birth. Bea is in Boothbay Harbor to surreptitiously observe her biological mother, Veronica Russo - something of a legend in town - who Bea might not be ready to meet, after all. Veronica, a thirty-eight-year-old diner waitress famous for her 'healing' pies, has come home to Maine to face her past. But when she's hired as an extra on the bustling movie set, she wonders if she's hiding from the truth . . . and perhaps the opportunity of a real life Mr Darcy. These three women will discover more than they ever imagined in this coastal Maine town, buzzing with hopes of Colin Firth. Even the conjecture of his arrival inspires daydreams, amplifies complicated lives, and gives incentive to find their own romantic endings."
