When Emer is diagnosed with terminal cancer, she and her loved ones struggle to come to terms with the news. While there is plenty left for Emer to live for, including the birth of a child by her beloved niece, Emer must live out her final days as best she can. The family has been torn apart for years by the tragic death of Emer's sister, and now Emer is hopeful that perhaps her death can reconcile the family and make a difference to their lives. I loved this book, despite it centring on the very serious matter of cancer, this was not a grim or sad read - it was uplifting and full of hope and wonder. The author has a wonderful knack of telling a story and making it come to life, the characters were animated and loveable and there was no shortage of action throughout. A brilliant read, I would definitely recommend it. (LO)
